If the Dinosaurs Came Back!

Kindergarten Art

In Art class, we read the story “If the Dinosaurs Came Back.” We were inspired to use squares and rectangles to draw a city scene with marker. Then we drew and cut shapes to create a dinosaur!

  1. Adorable. Simple, sweet and most importantly you got them cutting large shapes for those dinos instead of teeny ones {why do small people always cut and draw small??!!} I'm pinning this!

  2. I saw your post, immediately ordered the book, and taught the lesson to my kindergarten art students today. Thanks so much for sharing! I will post photos to my blog after we glue on the dinos next week.

  4. This is an excellent lesson I think I will teach to my first graders. We have a focus on the Elements of Art for each trimester and each grade, first grade happens to be line and shape (reinforced here) in the first trimester then we work into form in which we are making clay dinosaurs. Thank you for the idea that will reinforce what they learned in first trimester and leading into the introduction of form.
